Multiple Figures
Two or more figures (and appropriately larger sized canvases) increases the cost by 75 % for each additional figure; thus two heads on the same canvas would be $14,000. Charcoal drawings are half the cost of paintings.
Sittings
The location for the single initial sitting is the artist's studio which was built in 1980 to provide ideal portrait lighting conditions. Located in Corning, New York, it is near the Elmira airport with direct access to New York, Washington D.C., Boston and Philadelphia. At the very least, the sitting requires a morning or an afternoon, preferably both. The artist takes digital photographs and may do a preliminary drawing or a color study as time permits. Clients receive photographs of the portrait at various stages for their comments and approval. A final sitting may be desirable.
Terms
One third of the full price is due when the commission is awarded and accepted. This is not refundable once work begins. However, if the finished portrait is not acceptable and cannot be altered to make it acceptable, there is no further cost to the client. The final two thirds of the purchase price is due upon delivery and acceptance of the picture.
Framing
Although the artist is not responsible for framing, he will be pleased to choose and order an appropriate frame to be paid for by the client.
